Seems to me the only audience they're attracting now is the 12-17yr crowd. Average age of serious gamers = 28, FACT.
pitiful. most people of that age have grown up, and are married/engaged, having kids, getting a job, or going to school. NOT playing video games in their parents living room.

Been to school, been to Uni, have a great job, have great friends. Have no intention to get married or have kids until I'm at least 30+.
I love playing games as much as my work or hitting the pub.
What I don't enjoy is paying 30quid (ie. yesterday) for a defective product.

Go get yourself a refund (and specifically tell your retailers why... make a video so we can all see their reaction too). Then uninstall guildwars and stop posting here.

I downloaded Nightfall from the Guild Wars Official Online Shop. I have asked for a refund.

I don't agree with everything he said but he has alot of good points. I'm bored to death with guildwars. I can barely force myself to play for more than half an hour after beating nightfall. There's just nothing to do.. I mean they drill it in your head all game long "never fight alone" so lame lol.. what is there to do? They don't want you to go hunt alone which I did enjoy somewhat.
I think they took the fairness out of the game. To get one character and his hero's all pimped out isn't too hard, but getting your whole account like that is a boring task and there's not enough ways to make money. I had about 85k starting nightfall, now I have maybe 6k and still have 3 sunreach sheilds I can't be bothered to sell. I've tried and I don't play games to spam WTS this and that and wait. The one thing I wanted since prophecies was a trader to sell your stuff at but they don't care. The expansions are not worth full game money.
For a game that's main feature is pvp, the pvp isn't very enjoyable at all. People just leave your team with no consequences at all and leave you to fight 3 on 4 and everyone here loves it.

This may sound wrong, but with university degree, having a great job, and having social life, this game seems to cause you a surprising ammount of frustration.
Especially for someone who has had to go through all the social/political/govermental/personal absurdities of obtaining a university degree. To the best of my knowledge and experience, universities are the same all over the world, and the problems encountered are the same. From completely egoistical lecturers, fighting frantically for their positions, grants and tenures, to courses being designed to fail a fixed percentage of attendees and adjusting difficulties based on that, to junior student positions being subject to humiliation and exploitation, to the difficulties of funding the course in the first place, and more and more.
I don't know, but with a great job obtained through university degree, 30 quid is less than you would pay for a meal every day. I'd understand this coming from someone who mowed lawn for 6 months, and would be disapointed, but not in this case.

Quests : Oh no, its like reading a book im gonna get a stroke?!!
Game engine : You pay the money for anet to update all of the hardcoded? engine. Have fun.
Game economy : Yeah, because the green weekends and dye weekends are supporting famers by inflation. Makes perfect sense.
Skills : Yes, I agree with you. There are so many 'horrible' skills why not just delete all of them. Oh no, I cant go out and kill 4 monsters for 1k im so broke.
Faction Points : Yeah, well guess what? Dont be lazy.
Class chaning : I hear anet is planning on changing how this works. I think next game update so dont worry!
Heroes : I 8 maned fow with sub par heroes. No runes, no bought weapons.
PvP creation system : Wtf? Are you like 6 yers old? It is not confusing, it has little tabs and menus. Do you find ordering food at a fast food place confusing?
Obsdian armor : Its called a money sink. If you cant afford it, dont worry about it.
Hench : They already are effective.
Pets : Yes, because the 25dps of a pet is crappy damage.
Pugs : Pugs destroyed pugs. When me and a friend can take 6 sub par heroes and clear FoW in an hour... Yeah I think pugs screwed themselves.
Have fun playing WoW.

O.o for you people who are complaining about nerfs, why dont u go play a game that has a "god mode" so it can be easy for u? SimAnt isnt very challenging, try that game out. and to the first dude, u obviously were raised in front of a tv. try reading a book. the text in quests are enjoyable to read. i do agree with the guy mentioning the fow armor, i mean whats up with that? everytime i saw a tank in fow armor i used to think "wow thats ugly" then the other day i found out what it costs...now im like "wow thats ugly, and man are u retarded for wasting your money on that". i mean some fow armors are nice looking, but the warriors is just ugly.
Guild Wars is by far one of the best games of all time. up there with counterstrike. ok so you play WoW and u have the adacity to say GW character art is ridiculous? have you seen the lame graphix in wow? talk about kiddie graphix. "yay its like mario meets cartoon network". not sayin Wow is a bad game, just looks way too cartoony. GWs owns it. lol since when is red dye worth more than silver wtf are u talking about? ive got some red dye wanna buy it? Gws system req. arent anything. crap goto wally world and buy a computer for $200 and a crappy $40 vid card and u should be able to run it. runs fine on my 5yr old comp, not max settings but still looks fine.
all in all maybe when u kids grow up you can goto school and learn how to code video games and then u can work for anet and make the changes you want. then all the new kids will complain about you and youll see how it is.

No, I didn't sprint the monsters, I killed them. I got 0 gold/purple items and maybe a few blue ones, after defeating Abaddon, I got my first green weapon, but I had 10K in total
(Might've been a bit more cause i bought a sup Salvage kit (which still has 98 uses, btw, cause of lack of drops), but it wasn't more than 15K.
Also, the armor arts are all a matter of taste and opinion, you can't call someone names because he likes or dislikes an armor.
And Red Dye is worth 480 gold, while silver is worth 420 gold.

Play WoW, ooo sounds like a good idea. At least I won't have to watcha wannabe fanboyguru mods here ripping anything that has to do with disagreeing with Anet's policies. Btw Terra why are you telling people to get away, when your not even playing and being a forum leech here? You should quit then, not anyone else, because your not playing the game you love so much.

You're kidding right. I have never been affected by any 'political' strife that there may have been in our Uni's faculty. Like most students, I was at least clever enough to keep my nose in the books, and not in the business of lecturers' job securities. To be honest, is any student not aware that grades are set by averages? Are you profound for realising that? Or are you just dragging this off-topic.
As for being frustrated at being sold a defective product. I'd be frustrated if it cost me 10quid, even 5.
You must have studied Arts. the rest of us have principles. PM me, I'll reccommend some text on the matter.
